1. New user interface Word 2007 now has a new look with its new interface. It is designed to make you work easier especially by making the steps shorter in terms of searching for relevant features and functions unlike the older versions where one needed to look in menus and toolbars. Many dialog boxes are placed with drop down lists that display available options by providing tooltips or simple previews in getting the choice right.
2. Create professional looking documents The new interface in Microsoft Office Word 2007 allows users to spend more time writing and less time formatting documents. Users are able to select more from galleries of pre-defined styles, table formats, list formats, graphical effects, and much more. If you are a new user or first time user to Microsoft Office Word 2007, the guesswork involved in formatting your document is greatly reduced. The various galleries of formatting choices now allows you to view a live visual previews of the formatting tool or technique selected in your document before making the final selection or changes.
3. Adding pre-formatted elements quickly When working on a selected template, such as a report, you have the option of selecting a range of choices for the cover pages, pull quotas, and headers and footers to make the document appear more appealing. To customize a pre-formatted content, you have the option of building your own building blocks from the gallery with a single click.
